I received an advanced degree in Ukrainian philology from National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine a long time ago and currently I am finishing up my PhD dissertation in linguistics at Stony Brook.
My main specialization is Psycholinguistics (i.e., language acquisition and bilingualism); the general theoretical issue I investigate is a syntax-semantics-prosody interaction in scrambling; and the language I focus on is Ukrainian (with brief excursions to other Slavic and Germanic languages exhibiting similar phenomena).
I enjoy designing and conducting experiments with monolingual Ukrainian and bilingual English-Ukrainian children, and I am still searching for the best ways to convince adult speakers to participate as well.
My other area of interest is morphology, particularly the future tense forms in Slavic and Romance languages which I examine using diachronic and formal approaches.
